General description

Ethanolamine (Etn) is an amino alcohol. It contains both alcohol and amine functional group. Conformational studies of Etn have been reported.^[1] The decomposition of ethanolamine in aqueous medium by ozonization has been studied.

Application

Ethanolamine may be used as the following:
• Plasticizer in the synthesis of ethanolamine plasticized thermoplastic starch (ETPS).
• Hydroxyl radical scavenger.
• Blocking agent during genosensor development.
